Download and Convert YouTube Videos Automatically

I don't usually talk anything but stocks on this blog, but I had to talk about the simplicity of Youtube and a tool I discovered today called vDownloader.

Techies will probably scoff at my discovery considering (I am sure) that the tool has been around for a while, but I just have to rave about it here.

vDownloader (you can download it by clicking here) is a tool that allows you to not only download any video off Youtube, but also automatically convert it from the default FLV (flash video) format to AVI or MPG format so you can burn the video onto a DVD using Media Player or any other DVD creation software.

Best of all, vDownloader is free, and is intuitive enough to automatically detect a Youtube URL as soon as you copy it and automatically pastes the url in vDownloader. The software also allows you to download videos from other sites like Google Video, Metacafe, MySpace, DailyMotion and many other similar sites.

If you want to download videos from the internet and watch them offline or burn them on to DVD's, I recommend vDownloader. I was blown away so I beg your forgiveness for my giddiness.

Now, if you can't install software on your computer for some reason, an online tool called Vixy, converts Youtube url's for you online while you wait and allows you to download the converted AVI file to your computer. This is a little slower than installing vDownloader, and depending on traffic, can even give you a "buzy" signal (yes they spell it buzy).

Was this a useful post or a complete waste of time?
